UNITE: Unity in Nature through Inclusive Trails and Education

The "UNITE: Unity in Nature through Inclusive Trails and Education" project is a transformative initiative designed to make natural spaces accessible and inclusive for everyone. By addressing barriers faced by individuals with disabilities, the elderly, and families with young children, UNITE aims to create accessible trails equipped with Braille signage, firm surfaces, and rest areas. Complemented by digital tools like mobile apps and web platforms, the project provides comprehensive information on trails, flora, fauna, and local history, fostering digital literacy and engagement. Additionally, the project includes training programs for guides and staff to ensure inclusive outdoor experiences, while partnerships with local communities and tourism boards strengthen community involvement in promoting and maintaining accessible trails.

The expected outcomes of the UNITE project are both practical and far-reaching. It will result in the development of accessible trails and innovative digital guides, empowering diverse groups to engage with nature. Staff training initiatives will enhance skills in inclusivity, creating a competent workforce to support individuals with special needs. Community engagement efforts will foster stronger local partnerships, promoting environmental stewardship and collective ownership of outdoor spaces. By merging accessibility, digital education, and sustainability, UNITE exemplifies a forward-thinking approach that aligns with Erasmus+ priorities, creating a lasting impact on social inclusion, environmental awareness, and community well-being across Europe.
